and it should be there.

Hey Brian,
If you could post the sheet music, that would be great. Also, do you have the original song with lyrics? If so, do you mind posting that too?
One final question. What is the definition of a doulab and how does it differ from taqssim? Thanx in advance.

This is an instrumental piece, as far as I know there are no lyrics. It's on the Abdel Wahab "Bellydance" CD.
A doulab is a short instrumental piece, used as an introduction. It's composed, unlike a taqsim.

What mic did you use for the recording?Oud isnt the easiest instrument in the world to get a really nice recording sound...and you got it.
I would like to hear your recording-setup.

Hey guys, thanks for your comments. Recording myself makes me realize how hard it is to get a consistent, accurate performance (and still maintain
feeling!) . . . it really makes me appreciate even more the great musicians who play flawlessly every time.
as for the recording, this time I used two condenser mics, both Chinese, sort of generic but marketed under the Marshall brand. One is a
large-diaphragm mic, the other is a small-diaphragm directional mic. I put the directional mic fairly close (about 10") and the large diaphragm
farther away (about 18") to capture more of the ambience. I didn't EQ the mics at all, but I did obviously add some reverb (i don't
live in a cathedral) . . . too much reverb, now that I listen back to it.
I do use a mac, but logic isn't my favorite program for recording; I prefer protools.
