Oud for beginner

Hello, I'm new here and am very interested in learning to play the oud. Can anyone recomend a good beginners oud at a reasonable price and where to get one? Thanks!

Hey ScottC,

Where are you located? Very often, if you live near a big city, you will find someone on this forum who has a starter oud that they are willing to sell. This is much better than buying from the internet becaue you can actually see and hear the instrument first. You might even be able to save on shiping.

Hey revaldo29,
I'm from Southern New Jersey near Philadelphia. I did get an oud from someone on ebay and it was really poor. I quess thats what you get when you only spend $150.00. I don't know how much a good beginners oud would cost but I've seen really nice ones for around $1500.00 or more. Thats a bit much for me at this time. I guess I'll have to start putting money away!

Hey scott,

If you are willing to spend a little more money on a shehata oud, there are two members selling very nice shehata ouds. Zulkarnain and LeeVaris had 2 ouds on sale in the oud market forum. You might want to contact them about pricing and such.

Lowering price

Hey,

regarding my ouds for sale: I'm lowering the price on both ouds!

I've had a pretty good year and I'm feeling very generous so I'm lowering the price significantly on both of my ouds - I want to get them into good hands - I'll put up a new post regarding the ouds soon but you can email me if you want to discuss prices etc..

email me at: varis@varis.com

regards,

Lee Varis
