Elektro baglama effects on cumbus?

Hello everybody!

I would like to experiment a bit with the cumbus with effects.

I love the elektro saz sound with effects they are using in turkey and I was curious to understand which kind of on-board effect they have to be able to reproduce them with cumbus.

After some research I think I understood it is a kind of leslie (is it?) but combined with what?

I found that video and this could be what I want to achieve with cumbus also

could somebody please help?

thanks a lot!

A Leslie is a kind of speaker, where the cone spins to create a weird vibrato effect. Hammond organs used them.

I'd guess the pickups have a lot to do with it. Early bağlama pickups were just guitar ones that didn't come close to matching the string spacing. I'd guess the best ones these days are hand-wound? (Cümbüş pıckups are still just guitar ones, no?)

Hello Jack,

I don't think the pickup have something to do with the kind of sound Im looking for, it seems to be classic pick up.

when I said lesle for sure I meant a false emulation of leslie in a pedal.

Somebody have some more infos?

Thanks!
