Eliot Bates' book?

Is this book available now? The website hasn't been updated in quite a while?

Sorry - it never quite got to press. I'm really particular about details and "accuracy," and though I have a complete draft of volume 1 at some 280 pages (!!!) feel it's not ready to be released publically.

One of these years... I plan on doing some more work on it this summer. I'm also planning an interactive computer program to help learning makam and taksim. Lots of plans - no marketable results yet, however!

Yes, please work on it. You will be doing a great service to the furtherance of the oud and its music in the West. I am encouraged that you are 'particular' - it is worth the effort.
