Updated the My Ouds Page

I just edited the My Ouds page on the website. I no longer have pics of my previously owned ouds, and took some better pictures. I also have pictures of my newest oud.

Mike, your oud with inlays is a beauty!
What is the weight?

Best wishes

Mood: Loving the Oud

Just at first glance, I'd say that the inlaid weighs a good deal. In my opinion, if you asked me to play one of the two, I'd go for the ebony... that's at first glance. But they both sound great, don't they Mike? Maybe even... fantastic... :D

Hi Ronny,

Yeah, it is quite a heavy oud. The projection is not bad though, but you don't feel it when you are playing it. In other words, you can hear the oud better if you are sitting in front of the oud listening to somebody playing it. Does that make sense? But it is a heavy oud. I've never weighed it though.

Mike, We know to well why Farids oud sounded like it did. If he had a light Nahaat, then it wouldn't be the Farid that we likes. I just remember some Fadel classic ouds: heavy things compared to ouds from Turkey (high class only) and Nahaats.

Best wishes
