ud or guitar nut, need glue?

Hey all,

I have a question that's more related to guitar but would work for ud as well. I figure some people here maybe work on their guitars as well as uds.

does the nut of a nylon stringed guitar need to be glued in place? i banged mine out to sand it down a bit to lower the action, put it back in unglued and it seems to be holding just fine. seems like there's plenty of tension from the strings to hold it.

any reason to glue one in?

thanks

Adam

the strings will hold the nut in place as long as there's tension. It's only when you take the strings off that a bit of glue helps to avoid losing your nut.;) I put just a small dot of glue in there.
