Salam Khalid

Oud wazin is very simple. you have do the wazin as following (from up to Down):
FA
LA
Ree
Soool
Do
In case if you have Six Strings(6 Awtaar), the last string( Down) will be ( fa )..... :airguitar:

I agree with the tuning...
Fa, La, Re, Sol, Do... if you have an extra thick string on the top, it's Do. Some people have the extra high noted ones (the nylons on the bottom) and that's why it's Fa for that. But the common one, to my knowledge, has the bass one as Do.

Hi Khaled

You can use a tuning device (made for acoustic guitar) to be more accurate and also its very easy to use (you can bring it every where too) Im not sure if the members in this forum have the "tuning" MP3 file that same as the one you use now.

Hello. I think the best way to explain tuning for the oud is to do it in fourths. This tuning = BEADGC, which is exactly like a six string bass guitar is tuned, but an octave higher. If you need more help, let me know.

Wazen el oud ya Khaled

Dear friends,

There is a Japanese site:

http://www1.ocn.ne.jp

If you go there and select the English version, then go to Free Software, you will find an electronic tuner you can run on your computer and it will help you tune your oud (or any other instrument)

Better URL

The more correct URL:

http://www1.ocn.ne.jp/~tuner

The "English" tab is on the upper right hand side
