Yasin A. Khalifeh
Hello everybody,
first, I am french so excuse me for my english!
I have a question, I bought an oud, and I'd like to have some informations about it
it was made in Damas by Yasin A. Khalifeh
does anyone know about him? Is he a great syrian oud maker?

ok I know there's a lot of oud makers called Khalifeh but I don't know this one
I'll try to upload a pic, it's a very symple oud but it's sounds good!

I know Yasin Khalifeh in person, he is a decent oud maker, Can you attach pictures of the oud u got ?

If you buy a Khalifah from the above Samer or his brother Mahmoud Sukker through epalmyra or palmyrami it will probably be made by Yasin. They sell
his ouds on ebay and their website.
It is not as pretty as a Ibrahim Suker. It is a rough instrument. Some on this site call these instruments tourist ouds because of their low price.
You can probably a buy a simple model in Damascus for less than one hundred dollars.
The pegs are painted wood but they do fit snug. The action is playable and it sounded like an oud.
If you already own one of these ouds do not dismay. In the hands of an experienced player this oud should sound very good. If you have trouble playing
a Yasim Khalifeh oud do not blame the oud or the maker.

First of all Butrous, Mahmoud is not my brother but anyways.
I agree with Butrous, generally the quality of Yasin Khalifa is not as great as sukkar. However Some khalifah Ouds are high quality and well made.
Can you post some pics of the ouds u got so I can give you more information about it.
