Ronny's concise but descriptive assessment of the quality of the pictured instrument confirms what I had been thinking.

But just like the old adage says, "looks aren't everything."

If such wonderful tone can be achieved on such a humble instrument, we are all wasting our money by buying more expensive instruments.

Dani (or Ronny), could you please provide more detail on where and by whom this instrument was made? I would like to buy one.

Regards,

Greg

Since Dani is away I take the freedom to inform you that he is still very dissapointed
over the oud. Dani is a very good sound engineer and any oud in his hands sound good after while. He have lot of good recording equipment and knowledge. If you don't use this recording equipment this oud would bee dead in sound.
This particular oud is not worth any money and I can't recommend an oud that falls apart not even for a beginner .

Best wishes

Ronny
