You can varnish your oud with a thin and oilless varnish. We are varnishing the soundboards of ouds for to be clean,if requested. It is not hazardeous for sound. I have a long experience on music instruments, since 1965.If hazardeous why guitars, sazs, violins are varnished since many years?Don't believe every word.We are varnishing also our customers' ouds who lives in very hot countries, especially for to prevent different climate conditions.

Regards.
