Greek Christmas Carols--Kalanta

I want to play a couple of these this Christmas season on my oud.

First one is Anarchos Theos Kataveviken

Second one is: Afti einai imera

Does anyone have the lyrics for these, in Greek? (not transliterated, I read Greek)

Hey Jameel,

Nice job with the kalanta. :) I'm rehearsing with two groups to play and sing carols this Christmas, I'll see what lyrics I can round up for you. It's really interesting learning these carols, the rhythms are really irregular, changing meter a lot. It shows how generalized our view of music and folk songs in particular has become. In the past, each song was like it's own universe, it didn't have to fit within the few rhythms we have today, though it may seem we have a lot compared to Western cultures.

Have a great holiday,

mav
