Sharing a Song: Ensemble Ibn Arabi
Greetings Fellow Oud Freaks,
I have been wanting to transcribe and share a song from the recording "Chants Soufis Arabo-Andalous" from Ensemble Ibn Arabi and finally got around to
doing it!
Following up on my previous theme of devotional music, I have written out the music for Track 9, “Ses Paroles Me Ressuscitent.” The PDF is
attached.
This song turned out to be even simpler that I imagined, and just goes to prove (IMHO, anyway) that more complicated is not always "better" (though I
love to "shred" as much as the next guy!).
There CD notes provide no lyrics, not even the Arabic song names. If any Forum member wants to listing and transcribe and post the lyrics, that would
be awesome!

Thank you for posting this. It's a really good song. Always looking for a good song to learn, and simple is better for me at this point!
I actually was thinking about sitting down and really reading his philosophical/theological work, Fusus al-Hikaam (Bezels of Wisdom). I read more Ibn
Sina than Ibn 'Arabi.

My jazz guitar teacher (Henry Robinett http://www.capitaljazzproject.com/robinett.htm ) from my teen years always told me--and my Arabic oud teacher Naser Musa (http://www.nasermusa.net/) would certainly agree--to take a simple tune and, "Blow the $hit out of it."
Henry and Naser are both masters at embellishing simple melodies.
