Does anybody recognise this oud player?

Somebody sent me an unnamed CD (copy) of a 13 track CD with the attached tune (in full) as the first track.

I love the way this person plays and I would like to buy the original of the CD if anybody recognises it.

There is also a violin (or lyra) player on some tracks and a darabukka player on others.

Hi,

I'm 99.99% sure this is Anouar Brahem playing. He is really great, with several really beautiful CD's.

Just check out his releases and pick any or all, I think you'll love all of them. My favorite is Astrakan Cafe, with clarinet and percussion accompaniment.

Take care,

mavrothis

Hi Mavrothis,

You got it in one. With the name, I was able to go to a site and play samples from each of Anouar Brahem's albums.

The track is from the "Barzakh" album, but I will follow your recommendation and get "Astrakan Cafe" as well.

Thanks very much, you're a hero.
