Can someone identify the origin of this piece?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TS-h21mELi8&feature=youtube_gdat...

I can't find anything about this great piece, of course not knowing Arabic doesn't help. Is it a folk tune (from where), is it widely known, is it Shamma's own composition (as the thickness of the chords suggests), or what? Thanks!

I think Shamma looks so much better and 10 years younger without his beard!

BTW, I found a Malagnuena that is INCREDIBLE, it's Adabi AL Johar's and this cat can play the oud, just a little bit ... my Gawd!

Hi Fernandraynaud

It is awesome piece of art

the name is Raqset Al Faras ( the dance of a horse)
Nassir wrote this piece after he saw a beautiful Arabic horse in Amman 1988
(Ref. http://www.aljazeera.net/News/archive/archive?ArchiveId=59319 )

here is a link of the search results for this piece in arabic:

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=%D8%B1%D9%82%D8%B5%D8%A...

you will find saz version by Joan Farhan that is amazing too (no 3 in the results)

Regards

I didn't write anything

It's just part of the collection I made over the years.. collected from several forums and sources and friends.. but not Issa Boulos' archive (http://www.issaboulos.com/archive) which he made himself, and is a much better source of music sheets.

There's a new wave of music sheets coming soon to my collection as well..
