wood bridge: ebony?
Hello
I have an oud, fixed bridge, which I'm not fully satisfied with sound.
The bass are great but trebles are a bit too soft for me.
The fact is the bridge is ebony.
Do you think it make sense to ask a luthier to change the bridge for another wood, like walnut or pear wood?
What can I await from this change on the sound?

Are you sure that the bridge is ebony? Very often, pear wood that has been ebonized (dyed black) is used for fixed bridges. It would seem unlikely
that ebony was used. If in fact it is ebony, changing to pear wood would be reasonable, and may improve sound significantly

I sand a bit the bridge, and it seems real ebony (black dust, no painting).
What kind of change may I await on the sound?
