SAMPLE TRACK from upcoming CD - Raga/Maqam mix

HI Friends...
A recent exchange of PMs has inspired me to share this link with you - those who have interest in the fusion of Ragas and Maqams.

This tune is from my own upcoming CD... the tune is not fully mixed and mastered yet, but here it is anyway.

It's called RAST JHINJHOTI, and is my take on a possible combination of Maqam Rast, and Raga Jhinjhoti.

Raga Jhinjhoti is:
S R M P D S
S N D P M G R S
{S R G R G]

In this tune:
1. HANE 0.00 = rast
TESLIM 0.30 = jhinjhoti
2. HANE 1.00 = rast (touching on segah - nihavent/nahawand - segah) finish on rast
3. HANE 1.55 = jhinhoti (finish on rast)
4. HANE 2.50 = rast jhinjhoti - jhinjhoti - gunkali - neveser - madhuvanti - nikriz - bhimpalasi

This was recorded in Cairo with Mohamed Antar and Wael Al-Sayyid, in Mohammed's house (you can hear the screaming kids!)

thanks! interesting movement between different (cultural) modes. i'v heard there is no modulation in Indian raga music. so how should we call the change/movement between the two cultures? can one "modulate" from maqam to raga? ;)
anyway... nice music and Mohamed Antar's nay playing is awesome too! :applause:
