Mystery antique oud

Hi,

This is offered for sale on ebay in Switzerland. Seems in very good condition if it is original. Claimed to be from the 1900's. Syrian style for sure. Any ideas about the maker?

The bottom part of the calligraphy says ".... fi dimashq", that is: .... in Damascus. I can't figure out the top part.

Hand written at the bottom: "sanat 1344", that is: "year 1344".

Cheers,

Ali-

Oh, and that is year 1344 in the Islamic calendar. We are now in the year 1432 I believe, so that makes it 88 lunar years old. Since the lunar year is shorter then the solar year by about 1 year every 33 years, you are at about 85-86 solar years.

Cheers.
