I want to buy a new oud
Hi all,
I am new in this forum but I am a lover of the Oud ! I am intermediate level at oud playing and I want to buy a new one. I have a budget of about 500
euro +/- 100 euro ~. What oud maker do you advice me ?
Thanks to all in advance for considering my request,

You want the short answer? Sukar
at 600 euros if you hunt a little, it should be doable, maybe new, maybe used.

You didn't say "Turkish". Sorry, around here we do rather tend to think "Arabic". There are some direct from Turkey ouds on e-bay even. I don't know
if anyone here has tried them, there could be some acceptable ones. At the 500 euro level you sure don't have a lot of "name" Turkish ouds. Or Arabic
ones, either.

I like also ouds of Khaled Belhaiba from Morroco but I have no idea about his prices ! I think the sukar ouds are good for medium player but they are
not beautiful in my eyes... and oud for me is a piece of art and must have beautiful sound and beautiful design ! a pleasure for the ears and for the
eyes
Anyway, thanks a lot fernandraynaud !

Hi iss-2012
dont wanna step on your feets, but,do you know that the difference between
turkish and arabic ouds is not only the design?
If you want your new oud to be a plaesure for your ears, you should make sure to know which oud-nationality suits your ears most.
Regards from a turkish+arabic oud lover

I actually have a turkish oud, it has a medium sound (not sufficiently deep) but I want to sell it and buy another one . I saw that Faruk Turunz for
example make arabic ouds (with the turkish design), I like that sound:

I like also belhaiba ones:

The oud in the second belhaiba-clip is made by the forum member sabassi, as far as I know.
He make beautifull ouds like this ones for very reasonable prices.
