Stand-up comedy routine: Bill Bailey and the oud

Bumped into this on the 'tube and I just had to post it here....although I am sure many of you have already watched it....for those who aren't familiar with it, it's a bit of stand-up comedy involving the great Bill Bailey...and an oud!!!

Never saw this before, thanks for sharing. I love Black Books but never really looked into his stand-up much. I knew he was a multi-instrumentalist and has perfect pitch, but never would have thought I'd see him playing a country song on the oud. :D

I know, he's quite amazing, really. You can tell he's a failed musician blessed with the gift of the wit, but he turned it all around and instead of chucking his musical skills, he employed them making them a central feature of his stand-up act. I'm glad you liked it......

Hi Giorgio

I think Bill Bailey was actually a phenomenally gifted musician - particularly piano ... but got bored and did humour. There's a great episode of Black Books where his collegues pretend to be piano virtuosi to blind connosieurs and BB tinkles away - absolutely hilarious.

Its here http://www.channel4.com/programmes/black-books/4od#3106400

but you have to sign in for free.

I know its off topic but this is so funny.
