how to find horn risha ?
Hi,
Do you know any website where I can buy some horn rishas ?

Unfortunately, it's impossible to order when you live in France.
Any ideas ?
NB : I saw the website of "John Vergara" .. it's a good option when you know exactly the shape you need for your playing ... at present I'd like to
try different shapes, and I'd like to make them by myself.

(yes they do ship to France if you ask, at your risk but in this case it is not considerable)
For the price it is an excellent source of horn risha. Don't expect to use them straight away though - they need to be make to shape with sandpaper
(one big grain for the shape, one fine grain for finish).
The good thing is that you can experiment various shapes, thickness and width in order to find the more appropriate for your oud and your playing

I got one from John Vergara before christmas and I play almost exclusively with it! I would highly recommend him. He is very helpful over e-mail and
will discuss what shapes and sizes with you I am sure. To me his horn Rishi are a must have!

Try contacting forum member bulerias1981. He makes and sells horn rishas or at least he did.

you'll see some listings, including one for John Vergara.
Many members have gotten a horn risha from John (me too) and I can tell you buddy that he makes the nicest horn rishas I've tried, and will make them
to your specs. SO, why ask where to find horn rishas, when all the info is already here mon ami?
send John an email (you'll find it in his website in the FAQs) and discuss what you want... John will ship your risha to France, or anywhere in the
'civilized' world and I would imagine maybe even to oud players on the moon, n'est pas?

Perhaps would give a discount on several unshaped rishas? I've seen him make them--it's a lot of work!
