Well, you know, the Oh Yew Dee was out of the truck and on my doorstep. After all the fear and trembling in Kentucky the local silly truck driver
insisted on collecting a check written to no one. Stephen had it right exactly: this was like a Laurel and Hardy film. Later on, that oud, a large 7
course instrument turned out to be too large for my body and it put out my shoulder and impinged a nerve and gave me a limited range of movement for
more than a year. *That* and the pain that went with it was not amusing.
Perhaps on another occasion I will tell the story of an oud that was held up at JFK airport for a week because US Customs discovered that it was not
accompanied by the proper paper work for imported cheese.
None of this helps the oud reach Zach Fuzzy in Singapore any faster but at least a good story is distracting. I do hope the oud safely arrives.

I am also worried that it could be transported after transit in Hongkong by sea. That would be a disaster for any musical instrument. Warping twisting
splitting shrinking and not forgetting hide glue splits.

I examined a sursringar (string instrument) that was sent (against the buyer's wishes and instructions) by sea from India to California. The only
damage was that the finish became soft and tacky and the fuzzy case lining stuck to the instrument. I was able to remove all of it with 0000 steel
wool without doing damage to the finish.

Now its day 39 and no sign of it on Singapore post. The seller contacted Hongkong post where it last was, they claimed that it had left for Singapore
on the April 29. Thats 2 weeks ago and it hadnt arrive yet?? I am pretty sure it was put onboard flight MH370 that had gone missing.

Just a point that it is not uncommon for items to spend a week or more in customs in most countries, particularly if it is a large and/or valuable
parcel.
If there is tracking, it should be able to tell you if it is in customs in Singapore though.

I do understand about customs but neither Singapore posr nor Speedpost yeilded any results for it. Therefore, its just clear to me. 2 weeks where at??

Its day 46 and nothing at all. No oud infront of my door. This is annoying
