I was wondering if anyone has used or purchased this book?... I am a newbie without teacher etc and am looking for a book that teaches Arabic theory
etc...
I had also read a post about Scott Marcus' "Arab Music Theory in the Modern Period", but when i went to the link of the site that sold
the book I could not find it listed anywhere, so am unsire if it is still available or not...
I was also curious if the Cameron Powers book was indeed the Arabic school...
It is just hard for me to believe that there are no western books about the Oud...that is really a head scratcher to me... I mean it's one of
the oldest instruments going... you'd think in all that time someone would have written a worthwhile book on the subject....
I keep hearing about translations of method books and vcds being made but it seems they rarely materialize...and are any of these Arabic Oud
anyway?...
