Oud place in Montreal ?!
Hi oud lovers
I'm going to montreal for 2 weeks between end July and middle august.
Which are importants places ( bar, shop music, concert hall , festival) for oriental music addict like me there ?!

Hello Sylud,
If you were going 2-3 months later then I would've recommended the Festival du Monde Arabe, a great festival with lots of big names, I saw Naseer
Shamma play there 7-8 years ago and I believe Simon Shaheen played last year.
However there's a new, free, open-air festival by the same organizers, called Orientalys, which will take place on the 10th, 11th and 12th of August
at the Quai Jacques-Cartier. I don't have the programme but I'm sure it's worth a look.
Other than that maybe go have a walk around the Place des Arts and see what they're showing.
Montréal is an amazing city, and I'm sure you will have a great time. I do not myself know of any particular venues that regularly play Arabic or
Middle Eastern music, but I am sure there must be a few. If/when you do find out please let us know!

... yes and to add to what Ahmed said, you can eat poutine in Montreal!!
y fo poa manquer la poutine quand on vient à Montréal! pour le oud, ne t'en fait pas, mais y fo chercher.

Yes Ahmed !! I am very lucky, i found yesterday night the website of Orientalys festival !! Excellent new ...
You can be sur, i will go there...
