Pyramid bronze,(yellow label) has anyone tried them?
Hello oud lovers ,
As I am partial to copper coloured bass strings on the oud (I like their warmth) I am wondering if anyone has tried these.

This set has bronze bass strings and I am curious to try them.
I'm not bothered by the black nylons, I could use others but please share your views on the bass strings if you've tried them.
I am using copper colour Aquillas right now and have tried Savarez copper bass strings. These yellow label Bass strings are still a mystery to me.

yes i have just put on a new set of those, and the bass does sound warmer to my ears. i had previously used aquila strings and i could never get the
high c strings to sound in tune, or if i did the open strings sounded in unison but they went out when i fretted a note, and it would get worse as i
went higher up the neck. i hope that i'm making myself clear: open c strings sounded in tune but sounded out of tune if i fretted them. the pyramid
strings don't have that particular feature, thank goodness. perhaps someone could suggest a reason why the aquila strings behaved that way, at least
on my poor oud.
so, yes the basses are nice, but i'm more excited about the trebles.

I use them and they are awesome i use them on my KHALID BILHEBA oud and I acutely like them better than the pyramid lute stings

Hi Charlie,
I wondered how you got on with your yellows?
I'm really interested in that set but with the black nylon 3rd!
tuned C, F, A the 4th strings tension would be more reasonable than the 4kg at G so they would suit me quite well.
I think they call them "mellow yellow"

The anomaly you describe can happen with any pair of strings made of any material made by any manufacturer. It's not an inherent Aquila feature. This
seems to happen when the knots on the bridge of each of the members of a pair of strings are not quite aligned and the actual vibrating length (or
even the height) of the two strings in a pair is not identical. I have tried two solutions when this has happened to me and both solutions worked.
Select which ever of the two strings in a pair seems to be aligned with the other courses. Remove the other string in the pair and either re-attach it
with a new knot, or *reverse* the string. The end that was in the peg now is at the bridge and the end that was at the bridge is now in the peg. It
worked for me.
