Start building an Oud (Floating Bridge)

"Sorry for my bad English"

First of all thanks to this informative forum, especially to Jameel and Sabbassi.

Before I begin building the oud, I have collected a lot of information and I have started making a guitar on guitar construction course here in Germany. In this course I learned about the qualities and the properties of different woods, the vibration function on a blanket and fine Working

I will now explain step by step the various stages of construction, and will share with you everything I've learned.

Some Photos of my Guitar

Top

I tried to use as Usta Farouk "ANSYS Workbench" to determine the best thickness of the Top and the best position of the Braces.I have tried the same analysis wit "Chladni Theorie". The result was completely different.

my opinion, is better to use "Chladni Theory". Ansys is great forthe theory, so you really have to determine the density and other physical characteristics of each piece of the wood. (Very difficult)

At this Point i decide to use "Chladni" and Tap Tuning. sorry i forget to take Photos during the Process.

Conclusion: after many essaie, the top willbe 1,9mm in the middle, 1,5mm in the bass Side and 1,7 in the treple side

Great work ! Very fine to see another Oud-maker in Germany :)

Do you have any favourited Oud-makers as a "leading-line" in constructing and making an Oud ?

Now I wait for the pics of the progress in french polishing :-))
