Surdis Vura Kar Mu Ga
Oudi Hrant

*this is my own transcription as a non native speaker of armenian, i can't vouch for its complete accuracy

all vowels are clear as in spanish with the exception of "u" which stands for the i in dirt or turkish dotless i (sometimes symbolized by upside down e). the "oo" sound is written as "oo". i=ee, a=a in father, o=o in go, e= e in set. zh=the french "j". j=english j. ts is one sound as in "hats".

Surdis vura kar mu ga - On my heart there is a stone
Zayn nedeloo jar chi ga - There is no way to throw it off
(repeat both lines)
Karu togh deghu muna - Let the stone remain there
Kar ev kar sird yar mu ga - There is the stone, and a stone-hearted lover
(repeat both lines...do the same in the other verses)

Surdis vura verk mu ga - There is a wound on my heart
Zayn aryoonogh* tserk mu ga - There is a hand that makes it bleed
Zarnem tserkin, zenk chi ga - If I hit the hand, there is no weapon
Al koolkhis mech khelk chi ga - There is no mind in my head either

(i think this means he is so suprised he doesn't know what to think, therefore, "the mind goes out of my head" which is a common armenian expression - but usually when something is good, i.e. a pretty girl took my mind out of my head is in
countless armenian folk songs)

*udi hrant pronounces the "yoo" in aryoonogh more like a turkish u with an umlaut, this is common among some armenians

Sirdus khagheru doozhets - My heart forfeited its games/songs (???)
Aryoonus kulkhis khoozhets - My blood rushed to my heart
Khozhor temkut ints dabalets - Your harsh face knocked me down
Tartsyal zhubidner poozhets - (your?) smiles healed me again

not sure about some of these words especially "khagheru doozhets" which doesn't make a lot of sense unless its some idiom or istanbul slang i havent heard before

to review:

Surdis vura kar mu ga
Zayn nedeloo jar chi ga
Karu togh deghu muna
Kar ev kar sird yar mu ga

Surdis vura verk mu ga
Zayn aryoonogh tserk mu ga
Zarnem tserkin, zenk chi ga
Al koolkhis mech khelk chi ga

Sirdus khagheru doozhets
Aryoonus kulkhis khoozhets
Khozhor temkut ints dabalets
Tartsyal zhubidner poozhets

some corrections to the lyrics after I heard a more recent and clearer recording of hrant singing this.

last line of the first verse should be:

karen kar sird yar mu ga

last line of the second verse:

al kulkhis mech khelk chi ga

last line of the last verse:

tartsyal zhubidn ir poozhets

Surdis vura kar mu ga
Zayn nedeloo jar chi ga
Karu togh deghu muna
Karen kar sird yar mu ga

Surdis vura verk mu ga
Zayn aryoonogh tserk mu ga
Zarnem tserkin, zenk chi ga
Al kulkhis mech khelk chi ga

Sirdus khagheru doozhets
Aryoonus kulkhis khoozhets
Khozhor temkut ints dabalets
Tartsyal zhubidn ir poozhets

also note Hrant pronounces Aryoonogh, Aryoonus as Arünogh, Arünıs. actually throughut my whole lyrics "u" is to be pronounced as turkish "ı" as i said previously
