how to fix the action on an electric oud

Hello everybody I have a Sukar electric oud and would like to know how to lower the action, cause up the fretboard, the action is very high, the bridge looks like a floating wooden block so is it possible to file it or is there a pickup inside it? thanks a lot

The pickups on the Sukar electric ouds are interesting. I have one of these (the "toilet seat" variety) with the block of wood that looks like it's been cut between each string. Underneath that block is a sawed off chunk of piezo disk under each of the strings. These each are connected to inputs on a circuit board. There are trimpot adjustments in the back for editing the levels of each. You could take off the whole block of wood and sand the bottom of it to reduce the height, although if you went too far you'd not have room for the pickups and wire.
In my case, I didn't like the sound of the pickups, so I bought an under saddle piezo pickup and constructed my own saddle from a piece of wood. I had to drill a few holes in the oud, but it sounds much better since.
