I liked the old one more. The new site's colors of the home page & fonts aren't clear enough to tired eyes of an old guy like myself.
BTW, Salim Istanbuli was not famous like Nahat nor like Der Petrossian. Like Kadamani (or Hamawi or Masabni) ? Maybe ! I've never heard of this name
before, nor did I see an oud of his.
THE Istanbuli I know is Leon, not Salim.

I appreciate your opinion about my website !This is normal we are all tugged to the old things,there is an arabic proverb "already known is better
than things you will get to know "(اللي بتعرفه أحلى
من اللي بتتعرف عليه
the production of Salim Stambouli isn't compared with Nahats regarding the number of his ouds even less than Kadamani, but his ouds are known by their
beauty and their great sound. by the way I didn't see any rosettes (kamariyat) like those (form and beauty) in his oud 1915.

I have tried a time previously to post the prices, it was a great confusion for me and for the client !
do I post the price with cost shipping or without !with a hard case or without !
then the cost shipping from Lebanon is different according each country.
hence i decided to not put the prices I was satisfaid by declaring the specifications of any Oud or Buzuk.
I will be happy to answer anyone any informations about price,or other thing for any Oud or Buzuk .

I totally respect your point, and I’m not trying to defend my good friend Nazih because he can easily explain his point of view.
I would like to point out one thing. In all businesses there are two different types of offers:
Hard offers, where the merchant offers prices on his products.
And Soft offers where the merchant simply doesn’t ,and for you to know the price you have to contact him/her.
There is nothing wrong with either way of doing business… simply it is a CHOICE and that’s totally up to the merchant.
Obviously, Nazih, a wonderful reliable trustworthy oud maker, chose the soft offer way. Nobody can impose the hard offer way on him. As a matter of
fact, many oud makers follow that way. Just have a look at the websites of most oud makers. This is the way they chose probably because they feel more
comfortable with it.
Here are examples of oud makers who don’t post their prices: Dimitris, George Bitar, Maurice Shehata, Sayed Fathy Amine, Mohammadi Brothers, Ibrahim
Sukkar, Dalkilic, Viken Najarian,Gawharet Elfan, Magdy ElAshmawy etc… just to mention a few.
Personally, I prefer to see all oud makers follow the hard offer way, but again this is totally up to them.
Just my ten cents on the issue.

There is also the Middle Eastern way. And the Japanese way. And others, including the American, in which numbers rule, and are spelled out in neon
light over a meat counter clarity, which happens to be just one approach, and one which doesn't leave much to the human element. In that sense it is
confusing, since human beings are necessarily involved. Lute, just because you like the Sears Catalog way, it's not necessarily better. Or
appropriate. Not everybody values an automated approach. Or even efficiency. And it's contrary to the customs of the Middle East.

Thanks Baseelo to clarifying the two ways of offers in business .
What I would like to say after my experience, the clients will contact me even the prices are declared or they aren’t ,I would respect the human
element of my customers who contact me for sharing them, not only the price, but sharing my opinion in their oud choice, then the most of customers
like to speak with me, even listening to the sound of their oud by phone, they feel more comfortable In that moral contact before their buying
confirmation .
I think buying a hand made oud or any hand made instrument has a special feature it isn’t like buying a factory product. With the hand made
product you will feel and find the maker’s personality and his soul in the product as any hand made product is a life part of the maker.
Lute is right as I feel the hard way is easier for me, but it isn’t of our culture which let more space to the human element as Fernandraynaud
said.

Happy to discover this new thread.
Mr. Ghadban's new site is a professional site and up do date or "à la page". I also used to like the old one, which was excellent when it first
appeared. It is a nice friendly site but a bit obsolete for current days. I assume Mr. Ghadban must have spent, time, effort, etc to have his website
re-designed according to actual standards. Congratulations!
As for soft v/s hard method. Both are valid and possible. None is absolutely wrong or true. However, Mr. Ghadban is a communicative person, each oud
is unique and has its own soul and personality. He will certainly be glad to communicate with whoever contacts him, keeping a human contact, instead
of dryly posting a price. It is to mention that most of Mr. Ghadban's clients become his friends, not occasional customers of a mass production
oud/buzuk factory. Best.

I absolutely agree with this point.
Nazih is so friendly and he is happy to answer any questions. Once you are a client, you become a friend. This means a lot to me. It is not like
you're buying a jacket.. it is an oud... that carries lively feelings and the real touches of the person who makes it. Communication becomes a
priority, and you get that when you contact Mr.Ghadban.
