Building electric oud

I would like to build an electric oud. Did any of you have a plan?
What electronics do I need?

Thank you very much

Try to create your own pattern of an electric Oud. Use the typical pattern you are comfortable with.

Keep in mind that no ( NO ) electric Oud will sound as an Oud... Perhaps it will create strange sounds with an amplifier, but you will have to use Piezo-ceramic PUs for every string ore course. The first thing you have to think of is the bridge... will the strings go over the bridge ? Will they be tied at the bridge ? This two possibilities are the most important base on how to create the rest of the electric Oud. There are enough (bad and good) Piezo´s on the market, available in every price range. Do you want to build-in an equilizer ? Any pre-amp ?
May be you want to fix one Piezo for every course, you have to split the original piece and solder them in the way you want to tune the sound of the single course ore string (wiring diagram). Different Potis and Caps are used to match the output of the Piezo´s.

I have been asked to build an electric Oud an few months ago... I said "No"... I want the sound of an Oud, so I build an Oud :-)

Only an Oud sounds like an Oud :-)

From Germany to Germany :-)
