Hi Ryadh, and thank you !

Yes it's a Tunisian Oud from the Oud maker Abdelhamid Haddad

Great!, I have the same one with a fixed bridge.
That's the first time I'm seeing a Haddad's with a floating bridge, a friend of me ordered one, it's still in construction, can't wait to try it and maybe get one for myself.
I like haddad's work, I think his ouds have a nice warm sound.

Best,
Ryadh,

Waw, very nice music and very nice playing Gregory.
And I agree with Ryadh, your oud has a wonderful sound.
Very warm for a floating bridge.
Could you give us details about the strings you use. Brand, tension, tuning.
Congratulation once again. :applause:

Hi !

Yes Haddad's ouds seems to be great (I play the only Haddad I saw in my life...), and I'm very happy with mine (except my treble f strings, but I'm working on the way I have to play it to keep the warmness of the other strings, not easy...).

Robert, thanks for your kind words ! Yes it sounds warm for a floating bridge, but it wasn't easy at the beginning. It's my first floating bridge oud, and when I played it for the first time, I was really really pleased with the dynamics, the response and the sound, but it asked me some work with my right hand to find the sound I wanted too, something between fixed and floating bridge. The richa had it's importance for me in this case, and as I have a strong attack (too many rehearsals without mic but with percussions in my first oud years), I work actually on playing the softer I can with the more sound possible. This video is 1 year old, and I'm more happy with the sound I have on this oud now.

I tune it from bass to trebles like this: D (sometimes C) F (sometimes E) A D G C F with Pyramids strings I command with a gauge I've calculated with Wolfgang Früh in Paris (I'm French). I don't have the tension in mind, sorry...

Gregory

Thanks ! We are in intensive rehearsals this week and we will be recording in studio in Paris from the 5th to the 12th of september, lot of work, lot of joy, lot of oud, let's rock !!!

We will make a short movie in studio, perhaps I'll be able to put one extract on the forum at the end of september.

All your feedbacks for 2 months have been heartening, merci !

Thank you all !

The album will be released in February, and normally it will be presented in Switzerland. As we are living in Strasbourg (100 km from Basel), I hope we will be touring in Switzerland, but if think we will !
