Achref Chargui CD

Tunisian oud player Achref Chargui has released his debut CD 'Notes', which is available for digital download (MP3, FLAC etc.) here:

Sometimes I wonder if anybody is really capable of enjoying an annoying buzz in his oud while playing alone at home at 2 a.m !
But to take this buzz into a studio and record it on a CD and offer it for sale - is not just annoying, it's more than that ! It's something that involves pins and rears !
It's a matter of personal preferences, but I didn't like this work all over, especially the oud !
Listen to Anour Brahem to hear what Tunisian oud is like.

Sorry David dear

Yours indeed

for ALFARABY and Branko, just a small reminder sometimes people who judge and they pretend to know music and they play as if they have a nice cv and a long list disography but they are in fact ignorant and they are empty, and I think it's your case guys....
by the way you speak about MR CHARGUI this shows your limits of knowledge you and your teachers who did the same with you for such caracter I guss..

I took the plane to have courses with MR chargui and he is my 6th after being traveling the world to get master classes and courses with oud masters..

I can tell you that this man and his playing is just amazing between the classical roots and new spirit visions.. his new album "NOTES" is just fabulous, it's magic is very hard for you guys to understand..so you need a lots of maturity to get that...

I suggest you to study more and more and to make us listen to what your hands can make on the oud before you talk like that about a very high and far musicien and master like MR CHARGUI and im going again and again to get more lessons with him!

cheers

How someone could argue with an enamoured oudist lover?
All offence forgiven. I wish all oud masters to have disciples like that.

Mood: Dude, where's my Oud?

I understand what Alfaraby is saying about the buzz, it's rather annoying specially after having pointed it out. But this is probably the fault of the producer or soundman. The recording is a digital recording and is unintentionally picking up on extra sounds that are probably not very noticeable to the naked ear. Each track the mix is different.

I really like the style though for modern Oud. Beautiful taqasim. Thanks for sharing. It is always good to hear new recordings.
