Alexandre Bioud ouds

Hello all,
some videos of the Syrian oud maker Alexandre Bioud based in Paris ...
one of the main features of his ouds is the bowl depth which is 16-17 cm's
I have visited Alexandre few years ago in his workshop in Paris...
I have played some of these instruments.

These look stunning and sound full and well balanced! Where is he living?

I suppose the bowl dimensions make the Oud very comfortable?

I can confirm that Alexandre is a great person, a good friend and a very talented oud maker, I'm currently building my own oud under his supervision here in Paris.
For the bowl depth question, Alexandre has developed 10 different molds, with very different characteristics. He pays a real attention to details.

Please find here his business card: http://i.imgur.com/FD1cQWk.jpg?1

Also, for non french speakers, you can reach me and I'll be glad to deliver the messages.

Best,
Ryadh,

I did learn some French at school but no where near enough to deal with a person in detail! But Ryadh has kindly offered himself so... problem solved!

A bientot.

Hi,
Alexandre is great oud maker, very kind person.
His ouds are around 3000€. The work he makes is amazing.

He is always experimenting new things. 2 years ago, I wasn't able to pay the price for an oud from his shop. I bought from him a sukar oud that he had completly modified (it's an amazing oud).

Last time I saw him, he had the project to make copy of Nahats.

best,

juju

Hi juju:wavey:
A completly modified Sukar....that makes me curious!

Is there a possibility to see and maybe even hear it?

Cheers

Marcus

Hi juju,:wavey:
thanks for posting a soundfile, but, can you put it as an mp3 here on the site or maybe on youtube and post the link?
I dont want to subscribe and accept terms on this site, but I still love to hear AND see your Sukar!!

Maybe a new thread "modified Sukar" ,or so, would be good.

Thanks anyhow,

Marcus
