Sylent-oud / Electric instrument for traveling
Hi
This is my new electric oud

- Without its removable bows : 710x130x55mm
- lightweight : 1.9kg
Through a deal with Jean Baptiste Lorin, french guitar maker, I learned to make it.

Putting such bows to an electric thing does not make it an oud, though a nice try !

The acoustic oud is big and generally fragile. And electric oud are generally with the very large and not flat pegbox !
So that's why i tried to keep the ergonomics, but rethought to travel.
The result is little bit special but sensation are very close.
Of course tuning and strings are exactly the same ...

2- How much does it cost?

A basic guitar piezo microphone is used for this prototype. We will change to an higher quality for another one.
The price is the same as a handmade guitar in france. This is a handmade produce, not industrial ...

Sylent-oud is hand made instrument by a professionnal guitar maker (Jean baptiste Lorin). The price is the same as a good guitar made in france. With
high quality of component, soft case and shipping cost not included, 1590 Eur minimum (customization is possible).

Overpriced ... not sure. An handmade work by a french guitarmaker for this price is not expensive ... It depends if you want a basic or enduring
instrument.
