BRACE TUNING

THE BRACE TUNING SYSTEM

The “Brace Tuning” concept emerged from the need of knowing the “immutable charasteristics” of the wood.
On the other hand this apellation leads to a misinterpretation as well.
But the operation used in this method is exactly to tune the braces.
Of course the aim of tuning in this operation is not related to any musical target or sound specification.
The specific frequency of a beem is differential of the brace equation.
The wood is not a homogeneous material. Thus we can not repeat the same phisical merits by working with the metric dimensional tools. The only reliable property of the heterogeneous elastic materials is the specific frequency of the identically similar bodies.
My peculiar method stands on a vast statistical data as well.
I have been archiving all the specific frequency tables of my ouds since I composed this method.
I have accumulated well examined many frequency schedules. I’ve also gained the experience to predict what frequency of a particular brace effects which sound in which direction.
The main target of “Brace Tuning System” is to arrange some well scattered strength areas on the soundboard in harmony.
A special software and a tuner are used within this method.

The wood might be dead, but the oud is alive.
