New oud from Husseyn Sabsaby + VIDEO UPDATE

It has been a pleasure exchanging with Huseyn. He is a great and trustful person.

Hello,
some asked me a video of this oud, to get another kind of recording of the sound.
So here is a piece I catched once. Unfortunately I cannot remind the composer. If anyone can tell me who wrote this piece, i would be grateful.

Beautiful...I recently saw a great concert by Syrian player Kinan Idnawi, and he was played a Sabsaby oud. It made me want to get one...do you mind
telling us how much you paid for this instrument? Was it shipped? Congratulations on your new oud!

Indeed this walnut bowl is beautiful
I didn't knew about Kinan Idnawy, thanks to made me discover.
Regarding the price it is still the same than in previous thread about Husayn Sabsaby, a thousand dollar all include (shipping and box).
But it's always tricky to write down the price as they may change depending on situation.

what a beauty. I have been following him on facebook.
He is really a fantastic luthier and no words can describe his playing. I think perhaps in the top 5 oudist alive.

I meet Samir opinion, Huseyn has a lot of feeling in his interpetations. This talk in his improvisations.
Your idea to talk about the oud players we enjoy is nice, a good occasion to hear players we don't know yet.
I wouldn't make a " top " list, each having his own personnality. But here is a few names I enjoy a lot listening too.

BTW, does the record give a good idea of the sonority of the oud? This is a direct recording with a zoom H4. I didn't follow imrpovement in home
recording field. Maybe you will have some advices which doesn't need the invest of the price of a car for a mic and preamp.

No offense to anybody, especially not to Samir or to Husain Sabsaby, whom I met for a week stay in Amman, and respect very much.
I don't like to sound fanatic or sectarian, but I can think of some Palestinian virtuosos: Simon, Taiseer, Kameel, Ahmad, Nizar, Adel, Jubran (2-3)
etc. before we get to mention the great players of Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Gulf countries, Yemen, and so on.
To be named among the top 5 in the world, one should be mighty Samson
Therefore I wondered !
On the other hand I don't believe in competition in music. Every player, as modest as his playing might be, has his own feelings and language that
others don't. Music is made to be played together, not to be a rivalry issue.

I agree with this, and in that same spirit a player might make you go wild with his playing and not do much for me and viseversa.

players..
And then you make a list of your favarits from Palastine (and I cannot see why you think some of them are better then Sabsaby!)..
And then you say that you don't like competition in music...
What do you really want to say?

This is classic Alfaraby: expresses a strong opinion on something and then backpedals furiously as soon as someone challenges it. Come on Al, have the
courage to stand by your convictions! It's ok to have a strong opinion - in fact the forum is all the richer for it.

I realize i forgot to answer your question.
The oud was shipped from Damascus airport with a transporter named skynet. Then flyed to Dubaï and changed for TNT transporter. There was a tracking
number.
Was delivered at my door (France) after 9 days

Thanks Jack. I remember watching part of one of her videos before, a Bayati taqsim, and it sounded like a note for note rendition of a Munir Bashir
taqsim. I'm not saying all of her stuff is, but thought it was worth flagging up to perhaps generate further discussion? She is certainly a very
accomplished player though!

VERY DARK SCREEN COLORS HARD TO READ
Mine has. Alternating dark and light. The light is hard to read. The dark is very very hard to read.

The words in the dark colored little boxes (like "new reply") are hard to read. The lighter background colors make my eyes hurt but at least I can
read what is written. I can't say I like it though. Maybe this should be a new topic?
