How to fix the alignmente in the neck of the Cumbus?

Hello

I want to fix the misalignment I have in the neck of my Cumbus, that from what I've read here, everybody has on their instrument.
What is the best way to do it?

Here's how I solved it years ago:

1. Loosen strings or begin to unscrew the neck from the body

2. shim folded over cardboard at the point where the neck meets the body, enough to make a difference

3. tune up strings or tighten up the neck

It should do something to keep the strings a bit more straight
