Majid Nazempour

I have been listening to Majid Nazempour's albums this morning Wisdom and Philosophy. I really like them. They remind me of the meditative style I really favour in Yuval Ron's Oud Prayers on the Road to St Jacques.

However, I cannot work out whether Majid is playing oud or barbat in these albums. Looking round the internet doesn't help much either - I see pictures of him playing both - but I don't know what he is playing on these albums. The tiles say Improvisation on Barbat [oud] and it appears the terms are interchangeable these days. Can someone clarify?

He plays 13 string long neck oud ("barbat" in your words) which has a floating bridge made by Ibrahim Sukar.
P.S. he is also a psychologist and hypnotic therapist.

The Oud is my life, n my life is the Oud

Very good, thank you. I found some pictures and a video on this page:

I like this style of oud playing very much.
