How to help Tsunami Victims

I chose to donate at the Save the Children Relief Fund.

Please list any other possible places to donate in this thread.

Let's do what we can to help these disaster victims.

For those in the Middle East...

contact the embassies. We have been asked here in Dubai to buy specific foodstuffs for Sri Lanka (such as sugar and rice) and it's being flown out in flights that have been donated. Apparently it will actually be quicker to hit the ground than cash donations.

Malaysia has set up a special fund named “Asian Tsunami Disaster Fund Foreign Ministry” to enable the Government and Malaysians to contribute to victims of the tsunami that hit several countries.

Contributions in cash could be made by cheque to Tabung Bencana Tsunami Asia Kementerian Luar Negeri and sent to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Wisma Putra, Precinct 2, 62602 Putrajaya.

The ministry can be contacted at 03-8887 4000, 03-8887 4386, 03-8887 4332 and 03-8887 4321 or by fax at 03-8889 1717 and 03-8889 2834.

Thanks, Mike. We've already given to the cause, and our prayers, for what they are worth are with the many victims of this devastating tragedy. I just heard a story on CNN of a woman (an American tourist) who was in the water and was forced to choose between her two children which to save. She let go of her 5 year old son who was washed away. Amazingly, the boy was grabbed thereafter by another man who held him for hours neck-deep in water. The family was reunited.
