Unique style of Mohamed Abozekry

I love this piece of music! Im sure the purists will hate, thats fine, and I usually don't fall for 'fusion' (or whatever this is- contemporary?) and stick to the old ways of taqsim but this really struck me. Anyone familiar with Bela Fleck? He reminds me of him, not anything specific - just the sense of innovation, blending of old/new styles, and jaw-dropping talent. A bit of 'playing with time' and use of jolting, high energy phrases really works my attention in a good way. You can tell he's totally lost in his world too, I love that.
And man that oud he's playing is beautiful, any info about it? I like the higher course there, and the strings going all the way back.

Amazing work! I did not expect to get a reply from the maker himself, this place is awesome.

Hello,

oh there is a misunderstanding. The video you posted is not played with an aoud from me. It is somewhere from Cairo. Only the instrument in the video I mentioned is from me.
