Fake Mohammad fadel oud- advice please

I bought this on a trip in the Middle east in the mid 1990s, label inside says Mohammed Fadel Husayn and sons- as does the carving on the filigree work, however after advertising it on ebay I was inundated with emails telling me it is fake- any advice on the pictures from forum visitors would be much appreciated as I am not a musician. Can anyone suggest proper pricing?

This oud is 100% fake and it is made in syria, does not worth more than $100.

Sorry mate.

Depends where you live . . . if it plays well and sounds decent in might be worth a few hundred bucks even if it is fake. A real Fadel would likely be worth $2000+

I agree with you Brian.
On the picture, the bowl looks nice.
It depends on sound and playability.

Hi,
I have a similar type fake Fadel Oud. Yes the oud you are posting is 100% fake.

I bought it knowing it was fake (the name says Mohamad Fadel Al-Hussein) where the actual name should say simply Hussein (without Al). In any case, I bought it because I liked the sound of it. Obviously you shouldn't pay more than a couple of hundred bucks for it. Also playability is not good, but I'm willing to take it to a luthier to improve it.
Hope this helps.
