Is Oud Making an Activity for Dull Men?
On a recent thread, luthier John Vergara observed that simply watching someone make an oud is a slow and boring activity.
Non exciting as it may be 'Luthier Watchers' might well qualify as useful members of the 'Dull Men's Club'

The 'Dull Men's Club' is a virtual place where dull men (and women) share thoughts and experiences about ordinary things. (although currently 50% of
club members are women they are considered to be far too exciting to belong to a dull men's club - so there is now a DWC or Decent Women's Club so
named because no women are considered to be dull).
I qualify as a Dull Man by definition having found the 'Dull Men's Club Web site to be amusing. I also enjoy doing boring stuff like making lute pegs,
mowing the grass, watching paint dry etc.
Boring collections listed range from Belgian Underpants to Dead Umbrellas, Bricks and Fence posts etc. Bagpipe collections are even listed so it may
only be a matter of time before other instrument collections are included.
They also have boring instructional videos like 'How to Open a Door.'
Worth checking out for a good laugh - not that I am trying to suggest that any forum members would qualify as 'Dull Men'!

John, some activities would be considered too boring for even a qualified extrovert 'Dull Person' to contemplate!
A far better plan for a real 'Dull Person' would be to spend countless happy hours watching a gold beater at work as he pounds away with a hammer on
pieces of gold to (eventually) make gold leaf. The exciting bit might be applying the gold leaf as decoration on a shamsa or rosette.
