three masters Khalid Mohammed Ali (Iraq ), Sherbel Rohana (Lebanon) and Ahmed Alkhatib (Palastine) explain how to start a taqseem, how apply "ajnas"
and add colors and how to end a taqseem.

I believe this has been posted before but it's good to be reminded of these videos. Even if you don't speak a word of arabic they are very informative
and you can often get the gist of what is being communicated.

Yes, this has been posted before. I personally found the fact that it is in Arabic of limited value to me, since I can't understand what they are
saying it comes across as "for this maqam, you can play this, or this, or this". I really need to have an understanding of the psychological processes
underlying each improvisation, which unfortunately I can't pick up.
I'm sure there are plenty of people at my university who would be willing to pick up the translation work, dependant on how much the site is willing
to pay, but to "volunteer" - of which the implication is to do it for free - is crazy for the amount of work it would entail.

wow great video! they refer to the notes by their arabic/turkish names (not western, most of the time) so try to pick them up, for example "rast ala
yegah" is jins rast on yegah note (low G).

I was planning on translating part of it, not the whole thing. And from what I understand there's no pay but it would still be worth it.
