luthiers in Tunisia

Dear members,
I write from Sicily and I am quiete close to Tunisia (which I can reach by ferry).
Recently I saw some video from Luthierie RIDHA JENDHOUBI, and I was thinking of making a little trip to visit his workshop (Febbruary or March). Of course, if I go there, I would like to take the chanche to visit as many good luthiers as possible.
Do you know some?
Thank you!

Buongiorno Daniele,

The Iraqi luthier Yaroub Fadhel was based in Tunis for many years. He may still be there. I have an email address for him, but it might be very out-of-date. I would be happy to U2U or email it to you.

When I was in Sicily in 2004, I stayed up late almost every night listening to the radio, because I could pick up Tunisian radio stations from there, but only at night.

Buona fortuna,
John "Gianni" Erlich

Thank you guys!
John Erlich, thinking of you trying to pick up tunisian radio stations from Sicily is very romantic :) :) I know what you mean.. I used to do it myself much before I got to know what an oud was. You made me smile and remind me very sweet and good memories. thank you! Now, with the internet, we gor many things (first of all this website through which I am writing you!), but we lost the taste of such small and wonderful things.
Does Fadhel has a workshop in Belgium?
Any other luthiers in Tunis?

Not far from Tunis, in a town called Korba, you can find the workshop of Abdelhamid Haddad, a good luthier (I own a Haddad myself and I really like the sound as well as the finish)

How about thé Institut Supérieur de Musique de Tunis? http://www.ismt.rnu.tn

Worth a try, no?
