Yes. This is one of the most well known Turkish compositions in my opinion...a Saz Semai by Cemil Bey. Here's a link to the composition in Turkish notation:

http://neyzen.com/nota_arsivi/02_klasik_eserler/089_sedaraban/sedar...

I'm not sure where I found it, but I have attached a version in Arabic notation.

Thanks

Thanks David! I have since found another fine performance by the Palestinian Nizar Rohana. http://youtu.be/6brygRFoBpg

I am curious to know why this piece would crossover to arabic style in three such modern performers. Just a lively piece I suppose which works well in that register

I'm definitely not an authority on this by any means, but it seems like Cemil Bey and his compositions are also well known among many Arabic style players. The Sedaraban Saz Semai we're discussing here is definitely among my favorites, but really everything by Cemil Bey is awesome in my opinion.

I think it has been posted here before, but you can download this awesome corpus on Cemil Bey which includes more than 40 of his compositions:

And by the way, the version of the Sedaraban Saz Semai played by Tareq Jundi you linked to (https://youtu.be/-gEPLXR6Uxk) is fantastic!

As I understand it, this piece is among several from the Ottoman repertoire that were adopted by Arab musicians during the Ottoman empire and have remained part of the Arab classical repertoire since.

The Arabic score is from our own Jonathan "Gamil" Gemmill.

And for you oud lovers, from todays Turkish oud master Bayram Çoşkuner:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3Q4_b7P71s

There are many recordings of this famous song. My favourite is of course played with a tanbur but you can find with kemençe, oud or with other instruments. Just search for

sedaraban saz semaisi or sedd-i araban saz semaisi
