Oud students in Holland

Hi guys,

I'm new here. I wonder if anyone of you is from the Netherlands? I'm learning to play the oud since a couple of weeks, but it's not going well. I've searched in like every store for books about the oud but I didn't find any :(

Maybe one of you guys can help me out? Internetstuff for beginners is also welcome :)

Why don't you take lessons from mehmet polat? Look for him on youtube, he lives in amsterdam noord.

Hi Hans!

Thanks for your replay :) Hmm, well i actually live in Rotterdam, but since this is an international forum i thought it's smarter to have Amsterdam as my location ;).
I searched for mister Polat on youtube and I do like his music, especially "You're not alone". Do you know if he gives lessons on FaceTime/Skype?

i will ask him. If i am not mistaken he's going to teach at the rotterdam conservatory in the near future, so then you could meet him in rotterdam.

I do think there is a kurdish oud player in rotterdam, he plays in the nishtiman ensemble, maybe he gives lessons too

I hope you're right about mister Polat teaching in Rotterdam. Thanks in advance for asking him.

Do you mean Goran Kamil? I'm not sure if he gives lessons, so I'll send him an e-mail and ask about it.
