Dimitris Rapakousios Special 7 Course Oud for Sale-SOLD

Hi,

I unfortunately need to sell a few of my ouds this summer.

This is a special oud by Dimitris Rapakousios made in 2014, with a reverse appearance. Meaning the fingerboard is curly maple that has been varnished to maintain it well, and the pairing with the dark cedar sound board and mulberry body is very beautiful, along with the pickguard, bridge and pegs and stunning horn rosettes.

This instrument plays very easily, and has a great range of response from the bass range through the treble, and I have experimented in several tunings that work very well, both high and low. Right now I have D'Addario strings on it, but I can also recommend matching Pyarmid Lute gauges for anyone interested.

It has a built-in K&K piezo pickup and includes a custom gig bag (very light and sturdy) by Yiannis Seremetis.

The vibrating length is 58.5 cm.

Here are some videos featuring this oud at Dimitris' workshop in Athens:

For more details and photos feel free to contact me. I am located in NJ, USA.

My asking price is $1,300 plus shipping, and the oud is like new.

Thank you,

Mavrothi Kontanis

This is a very interesting oud, remember seeing this when I was checking out the youtube page of Dimitris Rapakousios.

Perhaps these videos can entice would-be customers:

Good luck with the sale!

what a oud it is! the pictures don't do it justice at all.

Having played this oud myself, its just gorgeous and plays with such ease. The sound is better than described as well, very well balanced between trebles and bases.

good luck with the sale Mav, I wish I could go for it right now.

Thank you Samir! I really appreciate your support in this sale. Hope you can visit again soon!

Another forum member actually just left my place as the happy new owner of this instrument!

Thanks again to the forum (the house that Mike built) and to everyone who stopped by to see and listen to this great oud by Dimitris. :)

It was weird to let it go, even though I had made my mind up, but I'm glad it went to a friend who really fell for it.

Thanks,

mav
