Shipping Oud from Irak

Hi,

Please I need yr advice and yr experience for the best way/protection to ship an oud from Irak without damaging it.
Sharing some pictures would be very helpful.
DHL is very expensive 600$ compared to the oud price. Experience with Irak post office.

Many thanks

Hello
I don't have experience with Iraq post service.
but from syria - Damascus it worked with the oud in a fiber hard case. Then blocks of polystyrene which blocked the fiber hard case from any movement for the whole put inside a big carton box. Inside a wooden box would be even better. Ply wood is enough and don't need to be so thick.
I don't have picture but hope this is clear description

Like this for exemple
With a carton box a hard case would be better with more polystyrene than this exemple

Be aware that most customs services will open and inspect it. If you make it too difficult for them to open it and inspect it, they will be very rough with it and are more likely to damage it.

Good luck!
