Short Comparative Test DGT Lewitt 650-Tascam iM2X and Rode iXY

Hello, as you can see I don't mind the total lack of feedback from you. I still think that it might be helfpul if you want to record yourself, to be able to make informed decisions, and that's why I do all these recording tests.

Even if you don't like my playing at all, you can still judge the differences in sound and timbre of the different microphones.

Here is a comparative test:

Overall, I like the Rode the best, but it is a bit dull. The Lewitt is nice too . . . it has more detail than the others. The Tascam is warmer but sounds a bit colored to me. Of course this is all after youtube compression etc.

Also, it would be nice if you posted the start time for each clip . . . I figured out they were each around 2 minutes but it would be easier for people to compare if you gave reference times.

complete different proximity effect between the 3:
the second it seems the mic was 30 cm from the oud, bassy, intimate, the only one "on focus"
the first seems the mic was more far away, with annoying high harmonics (typical of comb effect from a adiacent wall)
the third is more near the first, just less annoying

the first seems really off-axis from the source, the worst for sure. Between the other two it depends what sound you are searching for

The mics were positioned as closely to each other, as it was physically possible. Especially the distance was basically the same, the angling naturally a bit dufferent, but not as much as it would let you expect the actual differences. I think they are rather due to the mic/interface systems themselves.
