Lebanese luthier info

Hi, i am looking for info on oud makers Albert Mansour, and Fadi Matta from Lebanon. I believe that Charbel Rouhana has used thier ouds. If anyone has ever played one of these ouds, or has the makers contact info, i would greatly appreciate it.

In the latest Charbel Rouhana cd "The Art of the Middle Eastern Oud", he acknowledges that he used a Fadi Matta oud on the cd. It's a 7 course oud. Charbel also includes his e-mail address ghacha@terra.net.lb. You may want to contact him and ask him for Fadi Matta's info.

I do own a Ghadban oud myself, and I highly recommend them.

By the way, that cd is great, I've been listening to it non stop for a month.

I hear you there, every time I listen to a Charbel CD I discover something new. I have Mada and Salamat. Where did you get "the art of the Middle Eastern oud" CD? Maqamdotcom doesn't seem to have it. They have "Mazaj Alani" which I am tempted to get.

I have Majaz Alani, I haven't really submerged myself in it yet. Sometimes when I buy multiple cd's, I neglect the others, yet I discover them another time.

I bought "The Art of the Middle Eastern Oud" from a Borders store in the International section. You can get it for less here http://www.bestprices.com/cgi-bin/vlink/743037186322BT.html

Here's a review of it http://www.stylusmagazine.com/review.php?ID=2357

I really don't think Mr. Rouhana would mind. He put his own e-mail in his cd liner. I've seen a few interviews with him, he seems very humble and down to earth. I am thinking of e-mailing him and sending my gratitude for his work.

Sam, that is too my impression about Charbel. From his writings he comes across as a down to earth person with easy access to the public.
