Wow !
That seems to work pretty well. A nice innovative invention.
How did u bent the ribs before u made that machine ? Is it now easier/faster/ more accurate ?

Best regards

Well before that i bent the ribs with a pipe heated by resistance!
Of course with this machine the final bending is not achieved 100% so it needs correcting but i have a starting point and the most important is that all ribs have the same curvature ( i mean the big one) so the small correction is at the endng of the rib!
As a summary i would say it is more time consuming but it is worthy because it is more accurate than the free hand one!

Ah I see, you said "free hand", does that mean you dont use a mold ?
Is it possible to bend several ribs at the same time with ur machine ?

Best regards

Gocauo

thank you for support!!!
i try to show my ideas!

Hibari-San
Sorry for misunderstanding.Free hand means that i try to get the curvature by the traditional way....I bend and check...all the time if it feets the mold.

The mold is a full mod with brigdes...Because in my opinion you must be very experienced to keep the bowl inside the limits !
You can bend as many ribs as you wish at the same time but this depends on the width of the machine...I bend 2 ribs at the same time.

A silicon heating pad can be used to heat the whole rib rather than spot heating over a heated mold. The more even heat can reduce failures of some woods.
